About the role:

The User Experience Researcher will lead exploratory and evaluative research for our early-stage digital therapeutic. You will report to Swing’s Head of Product, and work with our design and clinical teams to refine and expand our therapeutic platform. You love mapping users’ mental models, understanding why people use and fall in (and out of) love with products, and the importance of continuous improvement in usability. You are inquisitive, empathetic, and have a talent for uncovering what users really think. You are a strong communicator that has a keen interest in technology along with the ability to synthesize information quickly. The position will be based in San Francisco, and we are open to contract-to-hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Head of Product, clinical experts, and the Swing design team to understand our users and help improve our products and services
  • Formulate hypotheses for testing and create interview scripts
  • Help recruit users, organize and conduct remote patient testing sessions
  • Quickly synthesize findings, and provide substantive, actionable feedback to the product team to help rapidly iterate concepts
  • Articulate a modern research philosophy that draws on best practices and pragmatic problem solving

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in anthropology, psychology or a related field
  • Experience working in research for mobile and web applications
  • Strong track record demonstrating an end-to-end understanding of research methods and analysis
  • Conversant with prototyping and remote testing tools (Figma, etc.)
  • Experienced working on modern, Agile-based product and research teams
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced startup culture - able to flex to meet changing business needs
  • Highly-organized, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage projects to completion
  • Passionate desire to help people with chronic conditions achieve improved health

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with data security or patient privacy requirements (e.g. HIPAA, GCP) a plus
